FOR NEW PARENTS

Training and Safety

The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for youth members. To maintain such an environment, the BSA has developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing programs.

Youth Protection Training is required for all BSA registered volunteers and must be repeated every two years. It is also strongly recommended for all parents. The online course is free and takes approximately an hour to complete.

We encourage you to learn more about theses policies and resources at scouting.org >
