This year is the 100th Anniversary of Wood Badge. The first course was held at Gilwell Park outside of London, England in September 1919. To commemorate this event, we are having a Wood Badge Centennial celebration and reunion at Camp Buck Toms on Sunday afternoon, September 15, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00pm. This will follow the OA Fall Fellowship.
All Wood Badge “critters” are welcome and invited to attend. Please wear your Class A uniform with either taupe or plaid neckerchief for our group picture. Also, bring your old patrol flags (if you still have them), your critter collections, photos, and totems for display and reflection.
The program will include a Wood Badge History presentation, old course photos and videos, and will allow considerable time for fellowship before our closing flag ceremony at Lower Gilwell. If you have previous course group or patrol photos that you can scan, please submit those via email to Todd Decker, who will be serving as a Centennial Scribe. Be sure to include course numbers.
Two Council Shoulder Patches (CSPs) will help us celebrate the Centennial of Wood Badge for the Great Smoky Mountain Council.
*One red special edition patch is included with your $10.00 registration fee.
*The second gold CSP is the fifth CSP for the pentagon legacy set which includes Courses 914, 1016. 1117, and 1219. The gold CSP can be purchased for $5 each with registration and at the reunion.
